Amboise – amazing chateau (and retail therapy)

Today was a practical day when Chris and I went to Lidl for groceries and Decathlon, a large outdoor gear retailer, to get camp chairs, a new helmet for Chris ( hers was cracked), some clothes, bungee cords, plastic cutlery and other stuff. We got up early but the store opens at 9:00 so we really got going at 10 or so, when the heat of the day was getting going. Luckily, there was an overcast sky so the sun was less intense today. THE CHAIRS ARE GREAT!

The riding today was marked by lots of vineyards, an amazing teapot collection and even a château…

It was after we had secured a camping site that I noticed the chateau. Duh…Chris had seen it long before me. Amazing, but this is normal on the Loire.

On the subject of campgrounds, the gardens around the shower/toilet block were amazing. I wish our garden was this beautiful!

From our campsite – hot air balloons rising
New chairs – we don’t have to sit on the ground anymore !!!!

  1. Wow, nice campsite. Great views. I’m sitting here in my condo. It’s 107 outside.

    1. Summer in Tucson is tough! But we want to join you in winter!
