Palmerston North

Since a lot of people follow this blog by getting email digests and don’t really see the comments, I wanted to share the following from Anna, a friend from Boulder, who commented that: “Did you hear that the garbage dump in Palmerston North is called Mt. Cleese? Because Monty Python’s John Cleese said: “If you ever do want to kill yourself but lack the courage, I think a visit to Palmerston North will do the trick.” This was the city’s retaliation! Hilarious! Enjoy!”

In addition, I mentioned to Sonja, the mother of our NZ family that we traveled with, that we were having a good time in Palmerston North and she responded that most kiwis thought of Palmerston North negatively! I guess we just lucked out since we had a good time and enjoyed our time there.

I guess it’s just a matter of scale.
Another reason to visit to Palmerston North!
