Mua Cave and a beautiful view

We were just looking to explore a bit today and get a few miles in by bike, so we decided to ride first to Mua Cave just 3 miles away and then to go on to Bia Dihn Pagoda another 5 miles distant.

Lonely Planet noted that Mua Cave was pretty unimpressive, but that the views on the hills above were outstanding. And so they were!

There are about 500 steps to the top of the overviews above Mua Cave. I heard a number of small children counting them out as they climbed. The views from the two summits are both amazing. The first one we climbed gave a great view of the river ride from Tam Cốc to the south as well as the valley below. And the second looked more north to the lake with the lotus flower motif. This place is just amazing!

The scenery during the ride was amazing. It wasn’t as if we planned it all out to be scenic or that we went somewhere marked “special.” It’s just this entire region is amazing.
