We are starting the last push down the eastern coast of Vietnam, which will end in a few days in Nha Trang, where we are planning on taking a bus to Dalat to spend a few days before taking another bus to Ho Chi Minh City (also known as Saigon) where we will fly to Siem Reap, Cambodia, before heading home for a bit.
This section of Vietnam is known for it’s beaches, and so we booked into a place called “Life’s a Beach”, started and run by a couple of English guys.

We stopped about lunch time for a bahn mi (a sandwich) in a little place that looked marginally open and got a great reception. The lady who runs it was excited to take our picture with her family and posted it to her Facebook page immediately, after making us Facebook friends and responses began pouring in! Lots and lots of friends! We’ve had more than a few people want to have their pictures taken with us, like we are celebrities.

After my bahn mi, Chris got a sugar cane drink where they press the raw cane to extract the juice and then pour the juice over ice. It’s called nước mía.

We bypassed Quy Nho’n, another popular tourist destination and went the few extra miles to Life’s a Beach. The hills at the end were challenging in the heat of the day. It was 93 or so today.

Arriving to Life’s a Beach was amazing. We arrived and then walked down the small path to the resort. We left our bikes with a light cable lock around them, but with little concern. Like most places in Vietnam, a full time guard watches over the guests’ motor bikes, bikes, etc. We’ve never had any concern about theft, fingers crossed.

We took a stroll down to the beach and enjoyed the warm water! I LOVE THIS temperature of water. And finally…there were cats, and so the place really was perfect.
