We passed through Morlaix on our first day riding last year, but really didn’t get to see the town. We had a lovely sun-drenched lunch at the harbor and thought the town looked worthy of a visit. This year, we decided to stay in Morlaix the first couple nights and explore.
As our train pulled into Morlaix station, we could view the town picturesquely arranged below from the height of the rail bridge, Morlaix’s most prominent feature.

We assembled bikes and rolled down to town and bought groceries for dinner. We’re hankering for simple food with lots of green vegetables, not a strong point of French cuisine!
We stayed in a couple nights in Morlaix, in two different places. For our second night, we moved across the street, unfortunately to a place with no bike parking and on the 4th floor. Bikes had to be carried up 4 narrow, steep flights of steps. Boo boo!
The town is delightful, with lots of restaurants and picturesque streets.

There are quite a few nice murals painted on the sides of buildings.

Chris is still recovering from a cold and plain fatigue so we take it easy. However, we get a walk in around town and over the middle level of the aqueduct, giving us some fine views.

The weather is showery as we walk and the forecast is for intermittent rain for a few days.
