We had a really lovely stay in Porto Covo, and now are pushing on to the last few days of riding before getting to Lisbon.
And push we did! We had a lot of sand these last two days, and pushed our heavy bikes a few miles in the process.
In general, we’ve had great luck following the EuroVelo routes during these trips, often marveling at how the planners have found all these interesting sections appropriate for bikes and mapped them together. But these last few days have been pretty bad, and our impression is that no one who rides a bike has ever ridden these paths!
As we’ve gotten closer to Lisbon, there’s also been fewer campsites and the ones we found seem like of run down. We stayed in a kind of forlorn campground near Melides, on our midpoint between Porto Covo and Setúbal.

We took a ferry to Setübal and found our way to our apartment. The campground is out of town and we wanted to have access to restaurants and shops so we are staying in town.

Tomorrow we’ll ride into Lisbon!
