We arrived at the hotel yesterday, and we are staying two nights. Both of us feel the first day of riding and so itโs great to wake up with nothing pressing to do. The room is lovely with light and we can hear the waves through the open windows. A really nice place. And today is Chrisโ 60th birthday! And so I have booked a dinner at a special restaurant just a few steps from our hotel.

In the morning, we go for a walk around the peninsula. Chris uses her new hiking poles she got for her birthday for the first time.

Itโs just a 4-mile hike out around the point and over a hill back to our place. We see some long distance hikers resting in the shade along the way. Similar to our bike route, thereโs a long distance hiking path that runs about 1500 miles around the Brittany coast. Itโs called the GR34, the customs officersโ path. And like our bike route, there a number of these paths that traverse Europe. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/GR_footpath

And thenโฆwe have to get some rest to prepare ourselves for dinner! The restaurant is 5 minutes walk, at most. The staff is charming, the setting is traditional French. We get a table by the window.

And here dinner! In our haste to start tasting, we forgot to take pics of the starters before we dug in!

And then dessert! Apple tarte cooked while we ate dinner with ice cream, accompanied by calvados from Bretagne (me) and champagne (Chris). We ate and drank our fill, and probably more. A great meal and experience, fit for a queen.
